North Carolina Women in Film & Television (NC WiFT) based in Charlotte, NC, established in 2020, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to advancing and supporting development and achievement for women working in all areas of film, video, and other screen-based media.
IT TAKES ONE TO KNOW ONE
We believe in equality across the boards, which is still a work in progress. Granted, we managed to leave the caves, but we haven’t made it very far. Whether or not women deserve the same opportunities and benefits as men shouldn’t even be a question, it is a birthright. Working hard to achieve one’s goals should never be a gender distinct privilege.
Contrary to common misconception,WiFTdoes not stand for being anti men. It symbolizes being pro women. Inclusion versus exclusion. Working under the umbrella ofWiFT is an energy boost for many, as they can utilize their skills at full throttle rather than being restrained by bias and obsolesce thinking.
